England emerged victorious against Iran on Monday. Team USA could only manage a draw with Wales in their opening game. And now it is almost time for England vs. the USA.

Team England

Gareth Southgate’s England will go into today’s fixture confidently after their 6-2 victory over Iran, their biggest-ever win in the first match of a major tournament. However, the England boss wants the team to improve their focus against a “full-throttle” USA side.

England won all group matches in 1982, 2006, and 2018. They are looking to repeat the feat this time.

England has won eight times out of eleven against the USA.

Captain Harry Kane has not been ruled out for the match despite earlier reports about his injured ankle.

England’s possible starting lineup

Pickford; Trippier, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Rice, Bellingham; Saka, Mount, Sterling; Kane

Team USA

The Stars and Stripes missed out on the 2018 World Cup, but this time they are hungry for success. The team has drawn their game 1-1 against Wales in the opening fixture.

Gregg Berhalter’s side believes they can secure a place in the knockout stage.

Team USA has managed to proceed to the finals stage during the two previous World Cup outings. In 2010, they edged out England on goal difference after drawing 1-1 against Favio Capello’s men.

USA will be hoping to capitalize on their unbeaten streak against England during their previous two World Cup encounters.

Kyle Walker is fit after recovering from a groin injury.
